Data, logs and local storage

Who is responsible
The controller of any personal data processed through this site is northwavegroups, reachable at privacy@northwavegroups.com. This notice is written in the spirit of the GDPR and is not tied to one country.
What the form collects
The contact form asks for a name, an email address, a subject and a message. You choose what to put in them. Nothing else is requested, and we ask you not to send special category data or information about other people.
Why, and on what basis
We use what you send only to read your message and answer it, and to check or correct an entry when your message concerns one. The basis is our legitimate interest in replying to correspondence, or your consent where you have given it through the form checkbox.
How long we keep it
Correspondence is kept while the exchange is open and for up to twenty-four months afterwards, so that we can trace how a correction was made. Where a message leads to a change in an entry, the change is kept, but the message itself is deleted on that schedule.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records ordinary technical data when a page is served: an IP address, a timestamp, the page requested, the browser string and any referring page. These logs exist for security and to keep the site running, and they are kept for a short retention period set by the provider.
No analytics, no tracking
This site runs no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixels, no social widgets and no third-party cookies. Nothing here profiles you, and no data is sold or shared for marketing. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts that service to fetch the font files.
Local storage
This site does not write to local storage or to cookies in your browser. Nothing is stored on your device by the pages themselves.
Hosting and processors
The site is served by a hosting provider acting as a processor under contract, and mail we receive is handled by an email provider on the same footing. We use no other processors.
International transfers
Readers write from many countries, so data may be processed outside your own. Where that happens, transfers rely on the safeguards recognised in your jurisdiction, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
Your rights
You may ask for access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interest, and you may withdraw consent at any time. Write to the address above; we answer within one month.
Complaints
If you believe your data has been handled badly, you may complain to the supervisory authority for data protection in your country of residence, and doing so does not affect any other remedy.
